week 8

v515_4Another week, another blog post. Not much to report, really. Not much time to eat, so lots of random, simple things.


Breakfast: oatmeal with honey or eggs & potatoes

Sat. lunch: gnocchi & broccoli in a lot of butter
Sat. dinner: eggs, homefries & salad
Sun. lunch: vegan shepherd’s pie sort of like this but also sort of not
Sun. dinner: eggs & potatoes
Mon. lunch: Thai carrot soup & bread sticks
Mon. dinner:
random snacks, largely brownies (emotional eating)
Tues. lunch: deli sandwiches
Tues. dinner: more vegan shepherd’s pie & salad
Wed. lunch: more Thai carrot soup with homemade bread
Wed. dinner: chickpea mash & pita
Thurs. lunch: deli sandwiches (again–fail)
Thurs. dinner:
more chickpea mash & pita
Fri. lunch: more vegan shepherd’s pie
Fri. dinner: misc. left overs & snacks at work

mixed nuts, hummus & chips, sweet potatoes cookies


Organic Groceries from the Co-op ($65)
almond milk
canned tomatoes
can of chickpeas
large bottle of olive oil
hot peppers
coconut milk
soba noodles
large bag of apples
vegetable broth concentrate
frozen vegetables
salad greens
crushed red pepper


  • lots of compost
  • 1/2 tub of moldy, old sour cream
  • 1/4 cup of moldy, old hummus
  • some cookies that were super stale
  • plastic bags from bulk goods & bags of chips
  • 2 moldy oranges
  • cardboard boxes & wax paper from deli sandwiches, recycled
