I hesitated before doing this, afraid that there are too many causes I push on this blog. I don’t want to push any of you away or lose sight of what this site is really about.

I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t really, really annoyed this morning when I tried to use Wikipedia… but wow, Internet. Way to bring people together to speak out. Google, Wikipedia, friends, news agencies–all over the Internet, people are speaking out against government censorship. SOPA won’t stop piracy; it will invade our privacy in the only truly free forum we have. People will still pirate movies and sell them to you for a dollar, but millions more people will be at risk of censorship.

I know many of you reading this don’t normally write letters or sign petitions or call Congress. But do it today. Wikipedia will make it super easy for you, and you’ll know you’ve helped keep the Internet free for all of us. It was less than a year ago that Julian Assange blew the whistle and was called a spy. Who could be next?
